The Sleeping Beauty costume is a delight to wear for any occasion and any event, not just for Halloween. Sleeping Beauty is also known as Princess Aurora, and was both blessed and cursed by the evil witch Maleficent. Because Maleficent was not welcome at the king’s palace, she in turn condemned the princess to prick her finger on a spindle and die on her 16th birthday. Aurora’s three fairy godmothers – Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather, came up with a clever plan so that the princess would not actually die. She would just sleep until she was awakened by true love’s first kiss.
